Tickets can be purchased on the night, or to save queing, from Notton Village Post Office. Opening hours are Monday to Saturday 7.00am to 7.00pm
and Sunday 8.00am to 12.00am
An announcement affecting any community building that plays recorded
music has just come out:
An amendment to legislation introduced this year means that charity shops and
community groups will have to pay for licences to play recorded music from
January 2012. Music licensing authority PPL announces groups with incomes of
£10,000 or more will pay 1 per cent of their income, with the rest charged
says public venues, including those used by charities and not-for-profit groups,
will need licences from PPL in order to play music from records, CDs, the radio

It will obviously affect things like dance sessions, keep fit etc – though sometimes the tutor may have their own
licence to cover wherever they go, so it would be worth checking. If you want to

What’s on in Wakefield and Barnsley area Sunday 12th June 2011? Notton Gala Sunday 12th June 2011 1pm-5pm
There will be a full afternoon of activities with attractions on the Arena from Wakefield Fleur de Lys Majorettes, Attitude Academy hip – hop dancing and star turn of strongman Mighty Smith, who will challenge you to feats of strength – with a £1000 prize if you can beat him! There will be many stalls, amusements and pony rides, plus the Yorkshire Traction Honley Band. So this is set to be a fun afternoon for everyone . Refreshments are available in the Village Hall and on the Village green. Please park on the playing fields which are down past the Village Hall. Money raised will be used to support Village activities and donations will be made to the Wakefield and Barnsley Hospices.
There will be an event to help local groups at Notton Village Hall on Monday 9th May from 4.30 – 6pm.
If anyone wants advice about funding, legal issues, use of volunteers etc please come along. There will alsio be information about the Digital TV Switchover.
